Weekend With Mom

Just back from a lovely weekend with my Mom. I must say that the older I get, the more I wish I lived closer to her. None of us are getting any younger and time has a wicked way of taking a toll pretty quickly.

My Mom, bless her, is such a super wonderful, kind, loving, sentimental, funny and fun loving soul. I so enjoy being with her! I am so blessed to have such a strong and wonderful Mom! I want to do all that I can to show her how dear she is to me and try to help her as much as I can.

So I do what I can when I visit her… This past weekend I set up her pretty items in her curio cabinets, vacuumed up the place and caulked her shower.  It was easy, little things that she needed and she was so grateful. I told her it was nothing but she went on and on – she’s so sweet. It’s the least I could do, truly. I wish I could do more. She deserves to be spoiled endlessly!

It is hard to watch our loved ones go through life and face the struggles of various pitfalls. We need to help whenever and however we can.

We were able to spend time at the pool together but she wasn’t able to join me for a swim. She loves to swim so this was a bit difficult for me to process. Her hip was bothering her since I last saw her a month ago and I thought the pool would help her but she just wasn’t up for it either day.

My precious wonderful Mama, oh how I love you!! She treated me to a lovely birthday dinner! Then we went back to the house and shared some wine. She then handed me my birthday card. She always picks the most beautiful and touching cards. This one did not fail to be the same. As tears welled up in my eyes and dripped down my face, I reached out to hug and kiss her.

She stepped away and I saw a notification on my phone that made me sad – Senator John McCain had passed away. I had to tell her and we both took a moment to honor him and discuss our admiration for him.

Life is so incredibly PRECIOUS  – it passes by so quickly and then gone from us. I treasure every precious moment with my Mom, our calls and visits alike. I cannot wait to see her again and hope that she will heed my plea to start exercising more so that she doesn’t get locked up in her hips and she can start to feel better and continue to live a very very VERY long, healthy and happy life!

Please take the time to tell the ones you care for how important they are to you and why. I think we don’t share this enough. Who doesn’t like to hear how much they are loved, appreciated, admired, and why?!  If we all did this more then we would ensure that we don’t regret not saying it and that we can share joy and love in this very moment, whatever moment it is!

We are all so precious, so fragile and every little bit of beautiful positive input and output is such a tremendous gift! Please join me in expressing beautiful kindness and appreciation for others today and everyday!! – Purr Out!
